3. Woodbridge Community Yard Sale - A massive yard sale in one of Detroit's coolest neighborhoods? Yes, please. Grab deals on household goods, clothing, appliances, nick knacks, books and more. June 7—8.

4. Eastside Detroit Canal Tours - Hop in a kayak at Maheras-Gentry Park for a two hour guided tour and see Detroit from a different angle. June 8th.

5. Honi Honi Grand Opening & Pig Roast - Enjoy cheap drinks and BBQ from the Detroit BBQ Company as the tiki bar opens for it's third season. June 8th.

1. Detroit Belle Isle Grand Prix - Ladies and gentlemen, start your engines! Racing returns to Detroit with a weekend filled with races including the IndyCar Series. Live music follows the racing each day—Lifehouse and Shaggy headline—and Friday is free day. May 30—June 1.

2. Downtown Hoedown - Grab your cowboy hat and put on your boots! One of the largest country music festivals invades Detroit this weekend with performances by Dierks Bentley, Big & Rich and many others. May 30—June 1.

3. Women Who Rock: Vision, Passion, Power - This interactive exhibit direct from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame features Madonna, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin and many more. Through August 17th.

4. Ask the Expert: Batman Through the Ages - Head to the Michigan Science Center to hear how Batman chose to be a hero, the science behind the gadgets and create your own superhero mask. May 31st.

5. 1st Sunday Creamery Tour - Stop in at Zingerman's Creamery and find out how they transform local milk into cheese and gelato. June 1st.

1. Detroit City Football Club - City 'til I die! Watch Detroit's minor league soccer team take on Lansing United at Cass Tech. May 23rd.

2. The Detroit-Berlin Connection - This free panel discussion at MOCAD is a collaborative effort to bring together creative individuals and communities in the two cities with the goal of driving cultural and economic growth in Detroit. May 23rd.

3. St. Mary's Polish Country Fair - The annual fair features a carnival, entertainment, a Vegas tent and—of course—Polish food! Be sure to check out the grotto and grounds while you're there. May 23—26.

4. Movement Electronic Music Festival - If it's Memorial Day weekend it's time for the music festival that Detroit is known for—Movement. Enjoy hundreds of artists on 5 stages plus pre and after parties all over town. May 24—26.

5. Greater Rochester Heritage Festival - The 37th annual fest features lumberjack shows, Civil War encampment, craft and cars shows, food and more. May 24—25.

1. Motor City Comic Con - Love pop culture and comics? Over 300 comic and media guests will be in Novi for the 25th anniversary including actors from the Walking Dead, John Barrowman and William Shatner! May 16—18.

2. Apple Island Tours - Take a pontoon boat to the island—where Chief Okemos was born—that's in the middle of Orchard Lake for a guided tour and talk to Native American storytellers. May 17—18.

3. Festival of Frogs and Snakes - Take the little ones to see live reptile amphibian presentations, crafts and nature hikes. May 17th.

4. Rummage at the Russell - Head to the Russell Industrial Center for Detroit's biggest garage sale. Free admission! May 17—18.

5. Flower Day 2014 - With attendance usually topping 200,000, Eastern Market is the place to be this weekend for annuals, perennials, foliage, shrubbery, trees, exotics, tropical plants, flats and hanging baskets. May 18th.

2. Craft Beer Expo - The Royal Oak Farmer's Market is the place to be for craft beer this weekend with some of the best breweries from Michigan and across the country represented. May 9th.

3. Art Birmingham - Formerly known as the Birmingham Fine Art Festival, this juried art fair features over 150 artists. May 10—11.

4. Cycle Into Spring - Hop on two wheels and enjoy a leisurely ride from the Detroit River to Eight Mile and back along the Conner Creek Greenway. Day-of ride registration available. May 10th.

5. Astronomy Day - Explore the sky at the Michigan Science Center with hands-on activities, outdoor viewing and dry ice comets. May 10th.
