I’ve heard a strange rumor that we’re going to have 70-degree temperatures and possibly sunshine in Detroit this weekend. Could it be true? Sounds like a perfect weekend to get out there and enjoy Detroit.

Weekend Roundup

1. The Robot Garage Open House - Get a sneak peek at the new robotics playland scheduled to open on June 1st. Hands-on fun for all ages including Lego® building and more. May 21-22. (Hat tip to @CharlieCurve.)

2. Dollars for Doggies! (Facebook link) - This benefit for the Detroit Dog Rescue, which was recently featured on NBC Nightly News, aims to create a no kill shelter in Detroit. They are also collecting pet supplies and will have information for those that wish to foster dogs. May 21st.

3. Fancy Footwork (Facebook link) - A kickoff party for the Detroit City Futbol League at The Old Miami. They're kicking off their second season in style with live music and competitive ribbing. May 21st.

4. Romeo Victorian Festival - Step back in time while visiting the oldest village in the state of Michigan. Vintage bike display, blacksmiths showing off their skills, trolley rides, a mustache contest and more. May 21st.

5. Detroit Area Kids Fishing Derby - The 15th annual derby is for kids ages 7-14 and it's free! Grab your fishing poles, have fun and win prizes in the beautiful Palmer Park neighborhood. May 21st.

Bonus: Rapture, Detroitus' studio-warming party and art show at the Russell Industrial Center.
