According to the Mayans, the world ends tomorrow. And it’s only 5 days until Christmas. We can do this, people!
On a (slightly) serious note, we at Detroit Moxie wish all of you a happy and peaceful holiday season.
Now get out there and enjoy Detroit!
1. The History of Cigar Making in Detroit (Facebook link) - Join the Detroit Drunken Historical Society at the 1701 Cigar Bar for a history lesson and some drinks. December 20th.
2. A Jazz Nutcracker featuring the Mike Jellick Quintet - Head to the Detroit Institute of Arts for this jazzy rendition of Tchaikovsky’s holiday classic The Nutcracker Suite. December 21st.
3. LEGO® Architecture: Towering Ambition - A LEGO® Certified Professional (who knew those existed?) has re-created 13 famous structures including Fallingwater, the John Hancock Center and the Empire State Building. Through February 24, 2013.
4. Detroit Santarchy - Get in the holiday spirit by dressing up like Santa and going on a wild bar crawl. Ho ho ho! December 22nd.
5. The Rink at Campus Martius Park - Get your skates on mate and take a few laps around the ice rink. Afterwards, take a horse and carriage ride around Detroit. December 21—23.
