It’s safe to say that spring has not yet sprung in metro Detroit. Yesterday, the media reminded us that last year we were enjoying unseasonably warm 80-degree weather. Sigh. But this is Michigan and the seasons will change when Mother Nature damn well feels like it.
Until then, get out there and enjoy Detroit!
1. Secret Cinema - Do you like surprises, movies and a great deal? Head to The Maple Theater and see a classic flick for $5 (with popcorn!). The secret is you won't know which movie it is until you pony up. March 21st.
2. Shrine Circus - The circus is in town! Hazel Park Raceway is home to the big top and promises family fun for all ages. Through March 31st.
3. African Adventure Series - Listen, learn and enjoy real African wildlife stories and folklore from David Gakure, Zoo Education Specialist at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo. March 23rd.
4. Detroit Derby Girls - The Detroit Derby Girls Allstars take on the Steel City at the Masonic Temple. March 23rd.
5. Marche du Nain Rouge - The Cass Corridor is the place to be this weekend! The Nain Rouge, the malevolent dwarf who’s haunted Detroit since the days of Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, must be banished from the city. March 24th.
Bonus: Easter Parade
Double Bonus: A friendly reminder that the Belle Isle Aquarium is open on Saturdays from 10am—3pm and it's free!
