Detroit Moxie's Weekend Roundup
Happy Bastille Day! We won’t be storming the Bastille here in Detroit but it’s a good time to remember our roots. Detroit was first settled by the French when Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac set up fort on the Detroit River in 1701.
If you’d like to celebrate the day head, over to Orleans and Atwater for a picnic and procession for the Second Annual Bastille Day Detroit.
Vive le Detroit!

There are also Quidditch games at The Henry Ford on Friday! http://blog.thehenryford.org/2011/07/quidditch-anyone/
Farmington is throwing its annual Founders Festival this weekend (Fri-Sun)! The theme is "Go Play in the Streets," with food vendors, farmers/artisans market, live music, a parade, and more.
My favorite art fair that I never get to go to is the Wyandotte Street Art Fair. It has the advantage of only being a block from the river so after walking from one end to the other you can take a break in the cool river breeze. Started Wednesday, last day Saturday, which is why I can't go - I work Wednesday thru Saturday this week!
The Escape to Belle Isle 5k/10k run is taking place tomorrow morning at 8:30 a.m. Runners and walkers can still register at the race from 7-8 a.m. http://www.escapetobelleisle.com/
