Detroit Moxie's Weekend Roundup

I know it’s a week or so early but I’m going to call it—it’s spring in Detroit! And boy does it feel good. I must confess that even though we’ve had a mild winter, I’ve hibernated for most of it. That all changes now that the warm weather and sunshine have arrived!

Weekend Roundup

1. The People of Detroit exhibition (Facebook link) - The People of Detroit is an ongoing project by photographer Noah Stephens to capture the spirit of the people of the city. Because, as the tag line says, not everyone in Detroit is an abandoned building. March 15th.

2. Free Art Friday - Join in on this art scavenger hunt where you if you find the artwork you get to keep it! It's also a great way to explore the city. Read more about the concept of Free Art Friday. March 16th.

3. The Gold Rush - Catch the restored original version of this Charlie Chaplin film at the beautiful Detroit Film Theatre. March 16—18 & 23—25.

4. Detroit Artists Market: The First 80 years - Head to the Detroit Historical Museum to check out this exhibition exploring the history of the DAM and its support of local artists. Through May 24th.

5. J Chris Newberg - The native Detroit comedian and singer takes the stage with Kevin Nealon at the Magic Bag. March 16th.

Bonus: College Hockey CCHA Championship

Double Bonus: Head to any Irish pub to celebrate St. Patrick's Day!
