Detroit Moxie's Weekend Roundup
Now in its third year at The Henry Ford, Maker Faire has become one of our favorite events in Detroit. Both adults and kids will enjoy the demonstrations, inventions and hands-on activities.
Highlights of Maker Faire include the Coke and Mentos Guys, a life-size Mousetrap game, a Lego Brick Challenge Game Show and Handmade Detroit and other local crafters. There is something for everyone at Maker Faire!

A cnc type of machine that would cut out all my wood projects and put them together. Then an automatic shop cleaner of course!
Something to monitor our sleep cycles accurately and help us wake up at the ideal point in our sleep cycle to maximize the effectiveness of sleep.
Much like automatic vacuum cleaners, I would like to see an automatic cultivator that can search your garden rows for weeds and remove them. With a dual function of patrolling for and scaring off pesky animals and insects that want to take advantage of our bounty!
An invention I'd like to see in my lifetime? Voice comments recorded on social media. No more emoticons needed.
A solar powered hover board to transport us from one building to another at school campuses quickly and in style
I have to agree with the self-cleaning windows. Thanks for the chance to win!
I would like to see a device in your car that alerts you when an emergency vehicle is approaching and audibly reminds you that you are supposed to safely pull over to the right and stop!
I'd like to see batteries that last [practically] forever. Open the box, turn it on, and it never turns off again.
I would love to see an actual domed colony on the moon. I think that is one of the coolest inventions that was predicted by science fiction that we haven't made any headway on.
I would like to see an innovation that can genetically modify cancer causing cells
Definitely laundry that puts itself away!!!
I'd like to see a food teletransporter so I can share in meals with friends and family who are far away. Of course, it would also be great to share with those who are foodless around the world as well.
A patio umbrella with built in insect repellent, so when you sat under it you would have to worry about mosquito and other pests.
Congrats to Chris Lee and Vince Speelman—You've each won 4 tickets to Maker Faire this weekend! You'll receive an email soon, letting you know how and where to pick up your tickets. Have fun!
Also dont forget the food truck rally sponsored by Olympia Development and Park Bar at 44 W Adams all day before the Jimmy Bufferr concert tomorrow!
