Hot Diggity Dog! The Wienermobile Food Truck is coming to Detroit

This year marks the 75^th anniversary of the Wienermobile and Oscar Mayer is celebrating by bringing a special edition Wienermobile Food Truck to Detroit. They’ve teamed up with Chef Brian Perrone of Slows Bar BQ to serve up their newest line of hot dogs.

The Wienermobile Food Truck will be at Rivard Plaza on Tuesday, June 21, 2011 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The first 1,000 people to join in the fun will get FREE hot dogs with a choice of locally-inspired toppings created by Chef Perrone.

For 75 years the Wienermobile has been delivering hot dogs and smiles across the country. By sharing a good deed that made someone else’s day better you can win a ride in a Wienermobile vehicle and $100,000 for your community.

I’ll also be giving away a swag bag filled with awesome goodies including t-shirts, a mini-grill & grilling accessories, a Wiener Whistle, a $25 gift card to Slows Bar BQ and more. More on the swag bag giveaway later… stay tuned!

Update: Slows Bar BQ announced that the locally-inspired toppings from Chef Perrone are Chorizo with Queso Fundido, Roast Pork with Beans and Rapini, Fennel Habanero, Bacon Mayonnaise, and Portabella with local Mizuna.
